Ambiance

This is a piece i made in 2004. Its called the Luna Lounge after the bar it depicts. I had a show there and this painting hung on the center red wall where the painting shows a painting of a blue female face. After years of making paintings which had one person in it I was trying to create a more complicated scene. My paintings tend to be spirit self portraits, even those which don't depict humans, I identify with several of the characters in this one and generally was depicting the bar's scene in terms of the various evening aspirations that lead me there. I'd like to make more pieces that have a lot going on like this, where the focus is the sum, the ambiance.
